Brothers from Philadelphia Alumni of Kappa Alpha Psi aided State Representatives Stephen Kinsey and Isabella Fitzgerald in executing the Feeding 1000 adjusted for the pandemic to a “Grab and Go” and delivery event. The normally lively, social event was now volunteers and Kappamen working diligently to distribute meals throughout the community on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Drivers assembled @ 1253 E. Chelten Avenue @10:15am that Saturday. The volunteer effort was coordinated by Troy Smith, Social Action Chair.

The hardest hit communities will be hit even harder this year, making Thanksgiving and Christmas difficult for some families. These are the occasions when we need to be of service to our communities. This makes Project Feeding 1000, all the more important. Due to COVID-19, this Thanksgiving will require the delivering of meals.

We all know there is tremendous food insecurity in our community and every little bit helps, especially during the Holiday Season. To combat that reality, we were able to provide 700+ meals today to those in need.

-Brother Troy Smith

Brothers were needed to deliver meals to families in need, the elderly, the sick and shut-in who are all in at risk groups during the COVID-19 pandemic.
