The Philadelphia Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. found the reported statements made by CBS Television Stations President Peter Dunn referencing our beloved Fraternity member
and CBS 3 Philadelphia news anchor Ukee Washington, a Black veteran journalist, as “just a jive guy…all he does is dance… dancing, dancing,” deplorable, disingenuous and alarming.
Brother Washington is one of the longest tenured anchors at CBS 3 and a consummate professional.

We, the members of the Philadelphia Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi stand boldly and proudly with our Fraternity Brother Ulysses Samuel Washington III and denounce the mischaracterization and disparaging remarks made against his personal and professional character. We ask the owners and executive staff of CBS to inject the words of ‘No Place for Hate’ into their business environment and policy holistically. We implore the owners to weed out systemic racism and the practices that have plagued the Black community for centuries and implement systematic changes.
